In my younger years I was a construction worker (carpenter) to support my various college studies; first a masters degree from Tufts University which led to my being an assistant professor of English and Theatre at Franklin Pierce University, Rindge, NH; this was followed by more graduate (doctoral) work at University of Massachusetts, Amherst, in Humanistic Education; then a move from New England to California where I took a Registered Nurse degree that led to hospital work and later to a PhD in Clinical Psychology in Laguna Beach, CA, in private practice. Intermittantly traveling to numerous foreign destinations to tour and interview LGBT (gay, lesbian, bi-sex and transgender) people about their lives in their cultures. Returning home I composed stories about these people to post on my wbesite GlobalGayz.com, now a very large LGBT website of travel-culture-human-rights. As of 2013 I and my husband of 25 years, Michael, continue to explore the world seeking to understand the complex and controversial world of gay life and human rights. This year has revealed Tunisia, Spain, Belgium, France and Andorra. Next up are China and Tibet.
All the while, for the past 33 years, competing in swimming in the quaddrennial 'gay olympics' international sporting events. Life is good.
